Did you know Easter is more than just one day? The Easter season, sometimes referred to as Eastertide, is fifty days from Easter Sunday all the way to Pentecost. This is the longest liturgical season on the calendar for good reason! This time is meant to be different from the solemn focus we observe in Lent. Instead, it is meant to be a time of joy, thanksgiving, and feasting!
Few ideas for the Easter Season:- Bring Back the Alleluia! - Traditionally some families "Bury the Alleluia" during Lent, because we do not use it in Mass. However, Easter is the season of Alleluia! Make a banner it can be simple or fancy, write Alleluia on it, and hang it for everyone to see all Easter long.
- Celebrate EACH Easter Sunday - If you do the math, there are eight Sundays within Eastertide: Easter Sunday, Divine Mercy Sunday, 3rd Sunday of Easter, Good Shepard Sunday, 5th-7th Sundays of Easter, and Pentecost. Each of these Sundays is meant to be celebrated and they carry significant meanings. Plan something special maybe on theme with the day, schedule extra prayer time, or just do something to purposely to make the day more grand than normal.
May is the Month of Mary. It is also when we are working and preparing our gardens and flowerbeds. A great way to naturally celebrate and honor Mary this month is to make a small Mary Garden either outside or inside with a terrarium.

St. Joseph provided for his holy spouse and the Incarnate Son of God through the daily labor and work in his shop which he offered with patience and joy. St. Joseph the Workman is the patron of our parish in Huntimer. Come celebrate this great saint with our pastorate family on May 1st starting with Adoration & Confessions at 4:30 pm. We will have Mass at 5:30 pm with a meal to follow.
"Workmen and all those laboring in conditions of poverty will have reasons to rejoice rather than grieve, since they have in common with the Holy Family daily preoccupations and cares" (Leo XIII).
May 3 Sts. Philip & James the Lesser
These Apostles share a Feast day because their relics were brought to the Vatican at the same time.
Philip - Read: Acts of the Apostles Chapter 8
St. Philip the Apostle, was one of the original 12 apostles of Jesus. He was from Bethsaida, the same town as Peter and Andrew. He played a key role in introducing Nathanael to Jesus and later helped spread the Christian message. Tradition holds he was martyred in Hierapolis (modern-day Turkey).
James - Read: Letter of St. James
St. James the Lesser, was also one of the 12 apostles of Jesus. He was known as James the Lesser because he was shorter then the other apostle James. He is attributed to writing the Letter of St. James in the bible.May 13 Our Lady of Fatima
Today the Church celebrates an Our Lady of Fatima, which is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary following apparitions to three shepherd children — Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco — in Portugal in 1917. The message of Fatima includes a call to conversion of heart, repentance from sin and a dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary, especially through praying the Rosary.

St. Philip Neri is the patron saint of laughter, joy, and Italy. He is known for being a great friend and bringing many to the faith through his happy disposition. May 27-30 Vocation Bible School
Please join us on a mission to build a culture of Vocations through song, plays, games, crafts, food, and SO MUCH MORE! You are welcome and wanted! The last day to register at the link above is May 5th or when we hit our 80 child limit, so register today! This camp will be held on the St. Mary's Catholic Schools campus.
For: Going into 1st - 8th Grade (7th & 8th graders play a unique helping hand role!) High School helpers also wanted!
When: 9 am - 12 pm
Cost: $50 per child ($100 family max)

May 31 Feast of the Visitation

The Feast of the Visitation commemorates when the Angel sent Mary to visit her cousin Elizabeth who was also pregnant at the time. The joyful encounter between the cousins of one of the first miracles of Jesus when the child in Elizabeth's womb, John the Baptist, jumped in excitement at the meeting of his cousin.

Blue is a very Marian color. Invite some friends over for blueberry cobbler or a blueberry dessert of any kind. Elevate the blueberry get together by praying the Magnificat together.
